Cynthia Llanes speaks to attendees at February’s Art Talk at the Ferguson Family YMCA

This February, Cynthia spoke at Artsville’s bi-monthly Art Talk at the Ferguson Family YMCA where her glorious watercolors are on display. While demonstrating her watercolor techniques, to the gathering, she spoke of her history in the art world from a young age.  Her degree in fine art and graphic designs turned into a job as a textile designer in Los Angeles.  Now based out of Asheville, NC, she boasts representation in several galleries in the area, as well as her own studio, Cynthia Llanes Fine Art Gallery and Studio at 191 Lyman Street, Studio 324, in the River Arts District.

Participant Patricia works with Cynthia on a watercolor demonstration

Cynthia’s warm and welcoming personality was evident in her talk.  She eagerly engaged with class attendees, inviting them to participate in creating the trees on her demonstration piece.  YMCA Member Patricia picked up a paint brush with no hesitation and gracefully added fluid branches and stoic trunks.  Conversation was robust and everyone left with a smile on their face and a deeper appreciation for the creative arts.

Artsville is thankful to continue to bring artists and art lovers together in ways that inspire and educate.  Mark your calendars for April 8 when we will host our next Art Talk at the Ferguson Family YMCA with one or more of our new class of Virtual Gallery Artists! Non-members are welcome to attend.

Artsville’s new exhibit at the Ferguson Family YMCA in Candler will feature our new Virtual Gallery Artists, opening March 15.
